I really don’t get Ashton’s whole thing. Like he wants to protect his son so bad but like won’t give up the career that he perceives puts his son in danger?? I liked him at the beginning but hated him at the end. He was so awful to Jasmine for no reason.

J’ai aimé plusieurs choses dans ce roman:
-La présence d’une variété de personnages diversifiés
-Le rappel de l’importance de la présence de la représentation dans les médias
-Le concept de l’histoire en général

Cependant, globalement, il manquait un petit quelque chose pour réellement me faire apprécier l’histoire et je ne sais pas exactement ce que c’est.

I had to DNF this book. I really wanted to like this because of the diverse set of characters and identities...but this was a STRUGGLE for me to get through. I read half of the book and then decided I couldn't do it anymore.

I felt oddly detached from the main characters and the writing was choppy and repetitive that it took me out of the story. I don't know how many times the author had to explain that they couldn't be together and it was always the same reason. She would at least say it once a chapter. I got annoyed.
There also was no chemistry between the characters and it felt weird. The main "obstacle" in this book is that they can't be together since they're both in Hollywood and care about their careers??

Anyways, if you choose to pick up this book mainly because of the cover, please do yourself a favor and don't fall into the trap. It is pretty, but the story is rather meh.
