A cosy and heartwarming fantasy about a princess, a witch, demon chicken, a pragmatic soldier who got stuck in fairyland and a godmother trying very hard to be a good person. The book is beautifully written with some wonderful turns of phrase, several laugh-out moments, some wonderful creepiness, strong characters and some tugs on the heartstrings, all set in a vivid world. A motley crew of unlikely heroes embarks on a quest for freedom.
