Fast paced page turner. Fun ride. I was expecting more courtroom drama but this was more a thriller with mafia and drug lords galore with some good courtroom tussle. Fair!

I unintentionally read the 4th book in this series first. I loved that book and I’m super happy that I read it. If I had read this one first, I’m not sure that I would have ever gotten past it. I love how Cavanagh writes. I visualize everything so well and he keeps me turning the pages. I just did not really enjoy this story line and I disliked a lot of things that happened towards the end.

Full of twists and turns, a riveting read from start to end. Honestly, I normally don't try to figure out what plots are unravelling, I'm very good at switching off my brain and simply going with the flow of the story. But this book made me use my brain and try to figure out what was happening - I suppose because the main character was doing the same and he took me along for the journey.

I really enjoyed this book! But I did have to put it down from time to time because I realised my heart was racing and it was not good for me to be reading this just before bedtime, plus I probably need a short break before I go on to Book 2.

I read this because I heard the Eddie Flynn series is great and I last year I read Kill for Me , Kill for you by the same author and enjoyed it.  I thought this book was just ok and helpful to have background info on Eddie Flynn.

Good enough for me to pick up the second one but in all honesty nothing to right home about. A fun action story that serves its purpose but doesn’t really at any point go beyond that.
