Natalia and Cristian should not work together. There are a bunch of things working against them, daughters best friend, marked by the enemy family, serious age gap. Despite all this the chemistry is off the charts. Natalia needs protection. She made an enemy when she broke up with her last boyfriend. She runs to her best friends father, who is a more notorious mobster than her ex, for protection. Cristian is not a good man, he makes no secrets that he is. When he sees the opportunity to get a leg up on his enemy he takes it. They both soon realize there is strong chemistry and the passion is undeniable. Can they move the mountains that are in their way?

This was a fantastic read. Cristian is a fabulous anti-hero. Everything he does is for the good of hid family. He is unapologetically the monster everyone says he is. His background would be tragic had he not embraced it and used to to become the powerful man he did.

Natalia for her part has a lot of learning to do. She begins being extremely naive about the life she has surrounded herself with. Despite having a best friend whose family is entrenched in the crime world she still is pretty clueless. As the story unfolds she begins to realize the seriousness of the situation. She must then embrace the world or be lost. Her growth was slow and at times painful to read, but she was a great opposite to Cristian. She brings light to his very dark character.

This book leaves off on a small (foreseeable) cliffhanger. The couple gets their HEA but it definitely sets up for the second of the series. I have only read a few of Charity Ferrrel books, this one is a bit darker than others. Still has great characters, great story, and all the steam expected

Lmao it took a while to get through this one. I wasn’t bad and wasn’t the great either. Just a good ole mafia romance. I do love my men crazy and murderous so that helped. The Mc feeling changed so fast it kinda gave me whiplash lol.

“Just like we’re improving your taste in the cock you suck, I’m upgrading your taste in lunch as well.” He roughly digs the tip of his finger into my lip. “Consider it a favor.”

After months of scouring through romance.io, filtering through their tropes (using my non-existent knowledge of permutations & combinations), Charity Ferrell's ••Marchetti Mafia•• was my jackpot moment. I HAVE to let you know that if you loved [b:Reign of a King|53401044|Reign of a King (Kingdom Duet, #1)|Rina Kent|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1601330983l/53401044._SY75_.jpg|82544990] then this SHOULD be on your TBR! Most of the "if you liked this, you'll like that" for dark, angsty, anti-hero romances by RK were absolute trash in my opinion. Readers seem to enjoy them just the same but I dunno, they don't give me the same rush. Either the pacing is off-putting or the male lead is a Joe Goldberg mixed with Edward Cullen (yikes!)

This one though, it hit all the right spots. With Gorgeous Monster you're looking at - best friend's father trope but hear me out! It's not the typical, raunchy read where the characters act with their libidos, the storyline is fresh, engaging and Natalia's character never allows for a dull moment. Even Mr. Monster Marchetti won't seem like an aging old man in his late 40s or early 50s. The way he was portrayed in the book, I imagined him to be in his early 30s. The supporting characters add dimension to the novel and hold it up very well. Unfortunately, the intimate scenes were, for the lack of better term, very vanilla. Don't worry though, no dull moments what with Cristian Marchetti's dirty talk ~

I wasn’t sure what I was going to think of this book. I normally stay away from mafia romance but I love everything Charity writes so I decided to follow her on this new journey. I am so happy I did because this book did not disappoint!

When Natalia breaks up with her boyfriend and he puts a hit out for her, she seeks help from her best friend’s dad. Cristian Marchetti is head of his mafia family and very ruthless, soulless, violent man. He agrees to help Natalie. But is his plan the same as the one he shares with Natalia?

When things escalate and plans change, Natalia and Cristian find themselves in an arrangement to get married. Natalia is defiant with a smart mouth, she constantly goes against what Cristian says and isn’t afraid of him. So why does that turn him on so much? The spice between these two was off the charts, insanely hot! One of the best being a sex scene toward the end involving shooting a gun. Charity opened me up to a whole new world that I did not know I loved! It was hot. The story was exciting, with some surprises and lots of twists.

Let me start by saying I’m so torn about how to rate this book—on the one hand. I highly enjoyed the story. On the second, I’m so picky with mafia romance. Especially the Italian mafia. I expected more brutality and darkness. On some levels, the author did. Most times, she didn’t. It's a me problem.

I love the age gap best friend's father. The banter is fantastic; I love how Natalia challenges Christine. She cracked me up one too many times.

Without spoiling, some of the mafia details glance over, and a few minor plot holes.
