This book was almost painful to read. I wanted to give up so many times but I pushed through hoping it would get better since I love Conteras’ other work but no it’s a total dud. The characters were completely undeveloped and uninspiring. There was nothing to like or dislike about them, which is the kiss of death for a book in my opinion. Even the supporting characters were not interesting. There was no chemistry between the main characters, or their family. I just wish I wouldn’t have wasted my time. Read The Player instead!

Cute read but it was like 0-100 really quick and things were sprung onto you! I also think it lacked detail in places that really needed it.

This felt really rushed with the romance as stale─ if not more ーthan that in book one. It's crammed with underdeveloped tropes and has an all-over-the-place plotline that just did not benefit the story in the slightest, ultimately making it a hot mess. It downright seemed like I was reading the rough draft and not the polished, beta'd version with how fragmentary this was.

I originally planned on giving this 2 stars, but on second thought, while perusing my mental list, I couldn't come up with a single element that I liked in it.

I didn't feel the chemistry and Joslyn was too insecure and whiny for me.

this was somehow even worse than the one before it.

everything happened on his own terms and she just ‘loved him too much’ to deny him anything. being with her a decade ago for three times then making out with her roommate? his terms. stupid fucking charade of him being with other women while wanting her and then “hiding it behind his humour”? his terms. fake relationship? his terms. making the fake relationship real? his terms. everything happened on his terms always. so much happened on his terms that all of her internal monologue was just about how upset she was that she wanted him. in fact, so much happened on his terms, i couldn’t fathom why she even needed to be there. and the fact of the story is: she waited ten years to be with him whilst he held onto her leash like she was a pet waiting to be fed. and she waited for nothing?? aramis had no achievements, no hobby, no loyalty either. all he was known for and seemed to be defined by or thought of or did do was (his ability to) fuck and now he has a son. he has no defining characteristics that was definitively aramis. he was just another guy but the guy happened to be a prince for some colonial fucktwat reason. there was also no coherency in the editing it was either breakneck speed or slow as a turtle. it was messy and terribly written. like i’m glad he can fuck but if that’s all he can do nothing else needed to happen it was just irrelevant.

this was in fact not sweet steamy nor was it a lot of fun.
