Look...is this book fade to black? Yeah, it is. Is that my usual preference for romance? No, it's not. Does that mean I disliked it? Not at all. Y'all, something about this book made my heart grow three sizes when I read it.
I'm a sucker for a reformed playboy, I enjoy fake dating, and small-town romances are also my jam. There's lots to like about the book. Perhaps most importantly, the book is funny. The scene where Annie orders everything on the menu at breakfast and then drops this line...
"Does this look like I’m asserting dominance, because I can tell you right now I’m a beta all the way.”
Perfection! Close behind is Will literally tearing siding off the side of his B&B and then not having a dang clue how to fix it. Annie and Will are cute together from the start, but there's a lot of growth in both throughout the book.
While there are references back to When in Rome, this book can definitely be read as a standalone. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, which we get some heavy previews of throughout the last act!

"Practice Makes Perfect" by Sarah Adams is a delightful and entertaining read for those looking for a charming and fluffy romance.
One of the highlights of the book is its side characters, who give off strong Gilmore Girls vibes. Their presence adds depth and charm to the story, making it even more enjoyable.
The main romance in the book is as cute and fluffy as expected. The conversations between the characters are engaging, and their encounters are delightful to read. I particularly appreciated how both characters were open about their wants and expectations, adding a refreshing honesty to their relationship.
However, I did have some issues with the protagonist, Annie. She came across as young and immature, making it challenging to connect with her character. Despite this, I found her quirks endearing and added to her overall charm.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story, and while the narrators did a great job, there was a slight disconnect in how the characters were portrayed. Annie sounded quite young, while Will sounded much older, making their interactions awkward. I believe I might have enjoyed the story more if I had read it instead.
Overall, Practice Makes Perfect is a fun and light-hearted read that delivers on its promise of a cute romance. It's a perfect choice for fans of fluffy contemporary romances looking for a feel-good story.

This book was cheesy in exactly the way I needed. I just loved how predictable it was because I needed something I didn’t have to think too hard about. The characters were adorable!! Will and Annie were so perfect. It made me want to go back and read the first book (I know I’m reading out of order, don’t judge).

I loved this book and I hope Sarah Adams will write more books set in Rome. I feel like there were hints at it *wink* James.
I don't have the right words to describe this book. I will put here my favourite quotes, but that might take a few days
