This man is one of my favourite people on the planet. Reading about his career on television was wonderful, and I feel the drive now to get out my Life Collection and do much watching. He writes so well, and manages to make you see the places he has been even without the use of a tv. Highly recommended!

They need to have an extra public holiday in the UK dedicated to Sir David Attenborough, his life has impacted so many in such a positive way, he is a great influencer of our time. This book is as amazing as he his, such an interesting life.

I have no words for how much I thoroughly loved and enjoyed this. It was beautifully narrated by Attenborough himself and I want to just hear more and more about his amazing life. This was funnier and more entertaining than I could have hoped for it to be and I feel INSPIRED to live a life like him . . . although I imagine that will not happen - but I can dream!!!

Full review to come.

Started this book just to listen to the calming voice of David Attenborough. A most relaxing read.

This autobiography was obviously going to be great - it was better than I couldve expected! A fascinating journey detailing his wildlife adventures (up to the 90s), as well as the development of tv, humorous, intellectual and just wonderful.

For anyone who is a fan of any of David Attenborough's documentaries, this book is a must-read. The man himself is as equally engaging as any of his programmes, largely because he doesn't talk about himself per say, rather he narrates what he has seen and been a part of, and that is much more interesting than the self-glorification found in some autobiographies.
He paints a vivid portrait of his first tentative steps into broadcasting, his time as controller at BBC2, and, of course, the various adventures he has been on around the world whilst filming animals in their natural habitats.
Even in a book about himself, Attenborough manages to make the animals the star of the show, and his infectious enthusiasm for life on Earth comes through on every page.
This book is just a great read start to finish. It can be funny, thoughtful and always fascinating, and, if you're as dedicated an Attenborough fan as I, then you get the unexpected bonus of hearing Sir David's voice in your head as you read, which makes it all the more brilliant.

This was so soothing and just what one would expect from Sir David Attenborough’s autobiography. I listened to the audiobook, and he narrated, so that was especially delightful. His writing voice is very British - his humor is very dry, and he manages to make animal poop jokes more funny because he’s so proper (of course there was animal poop at various times in his career). I grew up watching his various documentaries, so it was great to get some behind-the-scenes stories.
