I started reading this not knowing it would be a series (yes I see the Arlington hall #1, but sometimes that just means a book in the same universe). So this book ending on a cliff hanger made me joyous. Mainly because I love when the occasional books doesn’t have an HEA. Things I loved about this book, I LOVED that the fmc didn’t automatically fall at the MC’s feet. I love when they fight back because when they just agree on everything even when the MC’s a jerk I’m bored. So that was interesting. The “plot twist” was interesting and reminded me of the After series. But ya know adults.

The Invitation was has everything a JEM book should have, an over possessive alpha who you just want to get into his head and figure out what makes him tick and a strong female who falls and can't stop what's happening.
This book is so good and reminds me of JEM's This Man. Just gonna say that chapter 6 is hot and there is zero sex in that chapter with all their clothes staying on haha ;)
The build up for these two characters is off the charts. The FMC's interfering family members and other outside forces helps to cause tension within the couple. JEM just does a great job with this book and I can't wait for book 2 The Surrender! This book does end on a cliffhanger.

I went in thinking this was going to be pure spice but it was actually a fun read. Spice, meets rom com, meets chick lit. An interesting blend of genres that delivered more than expected.
The fact that this is set up to be an I said no and he didn't take no for an answer as the whole meet cute is just nope. And too almost stalkery and you don't get away with that just by being hot. An Amazon first choice fail

I really enjoyed this it was funny and I loved the MCs and thr FMCs friends....too funny! I didnt realize it wasnt a standalone but a duet (I think) and the second books not out till sept.
