To re-read and annotate.

DeBord is strongest when conceptualizing "the spectacle," however is weakest when attempting to summarize history.

There are myriads of reasons to create, to share a vision or leave a legacy are two which come to mind concerning this book. I don't know if Guy Debord was doing it for the latter, but the former is definitely present. Despite being about 60 years old, this book contains ideas and prospects of a society we're currently dealing with. The image is leading and it has become a spectacle just like Debord envisioned.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean the work is very accessible. At times, one may wonder where they are at. For example, a treatise on baroque art goes on for pages, while Debord makes his point in a paragraph. And there’s the density of the text, which doesn’t invite a recommendation easily. Nevertheless, the struggle was worth it for me.

this was really all summed up in that one matty healy lyric im sorry
