I absolutely adored these stories. Its always great to get a sneak peek into the personal lives of the characters. Though being as Ive finished the whole series the last story made me tear up at the end. Truly love these characters and this series. One of my top favorites.

Day 3 of 5 books, 5 days

Of course I didn't like this book as much as Delirium. Not only was it shorter, but it lacked my two favourite characters. Lena and Alex. I personally think that I would have liked this book more if the stories had been from the point of view of characters that I actually...liked. Out of all three of them, Hana's story might have been my favourite, but I really liked knowing about Annabel in the asylum. Raven's story wasn't all that interesting to me, although I hadn't really liked her in the books to begin with, so I suppose that makes sense.

Delirium Stories by Lauren Oliver

Blurb

Hana is told through the perspective of Lena's best friend, Hana Tate. Set during the tumultuous summer before Lena and Hana are supposed to be cured, this story is a poignant and revealing look at a moment when the girls' paths diverge and their futures are altered forever.

Lena's mother, Annabel, has always been a mystery--a ghost from Lena's past--until now. Her journey from teenage runaway to prisoner of the state is a taut, gripping narrative that expands the Delirium world and illuminates events--and Lena--through a new point of view.

And as the passionate, fierce leader of a rebel group in the Wilds, Raven plays an integral role in the resistance effort and comes into Lena's life at a crucial time. Crackling with intensity, Raven is a brilliant story told in the voice of one of the strongest and most tenacious characters in the Delirium world.

My Opinion

I have read these short stories in the correct order around the full length novels, unfortunately I am not sure that this had added any additional information to help me understand the series. Whilst I would recommend reading these in line with the series, I am still not sure how I feel about the writing of the series as a whole.

Rating 3/5

I liked these stories, but having read the whole series already I knew how they were going to turn out, which really undercut the tension. I know that wasn’t the point of them, but still. Also, these stories, unfortunately, kind of underscored how little we knew about any of the characters besides Lena in the series, including Alex.

Added depth and insight into some favorite characters in the Delirium series. Best read in order with the rest of the books but not necessary.
