I read this whole book in one sitting! Wow! What an emotional roller coaster ride! This was my first book by [a:Macy T. Riosa|23276964|Macy T. Riosa|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1672060035p2/23276964.jpg] and will definitely not be my last. The spice was top notch! There were some inconsistencies and plot holes (that I think will be cleared up in the next book), but it was easy to overlook all that because of how good the overall story was. Well done!

It was a roller coaster of emotions, Sofia and Valentina’s relationship was the most beautiful form of sisterhood I’ve ever read. Maddox was exactly what the girls wanted, a protective, kind and strong man. The way he loves Sofia knows no boundaries and he is ready to sacrifice anything for her to be happy. It’s one of my best reads in 2024 so far.❤️
okay look… i was going to start with “when will i learn and stop picking books I’ve seen a 6 seconds reel on” but that’s my issue and the answer is probably not anytime soon.
I’m just not drawn by any of the characters in this book or the storyline. I’m not even counting my biggest pet peeve here, a nee paragraph for every sentence, as I’ve read amazing books that were edited that way.
the dialogues were immature and it felt very instalust for me, what, so suddenly maddox went from being almost like a guardian figure when she wasnt 18 yet and now he’s basically obsessed with her? bit odd.
also the whole investigation/police talk was lacking of any complexity, i found myself reading certain convos between maddox and adam and thinking “well, duh??” - not sure if that’s because I’m really into true crime?? idk it just fell a bit flat on that front
overall unfortunately it didn’t deliver
