It took me a minute to get into this one due to the age gap and power dynamics at play. Eventually though Maddox and Sofia wore me down, and I was rooting for them. Sofia was a survivor, and I felt for her and all she went through. Maddox was so sweet and just wanted to do right by the girls. Valentina was so cute and charming. I loved the way Sofia and Valentina loved each other. The way Sofia fought to keep Valentina safe was admirable. The banter and spice between Maddox and Sofia was well timed. The plot sort of meandered in the beginning, and then things started happening really quickly at the end that it gave me whiplash. I wasn’t expecting the twists at the end, so I loved that. However, the ending was a bit abrupt. The epilogue helped wrapped things up better which I appreciated.

I had so many theories about this book. Yet i was so far from the truth. I loved every second of the book. The twist was amazing. The characters were everything. Valentina officially owns a piece of my heart. And the bonus scene>>> i can’t wait to read the next book

Thank you so much to the author for sending me the ARC. Please check the trigger warnings.

This was incredible!! My first 5 stars of the year and so well deserved. It had the most amazing mixture of mystery, thriller, romance and comedy here and there. I absolutely adored Sophia. Truly a new fav of mine. She’s so strong and loves to seek trouble but stays true to who she is. She’s very protective of her younger sister Valentina. This book is truly about the lengths she will go to for her. As a sister myself I can only relate, there’s a special kind of bond between sisters.

I went in completely blind and this is what I recommend! Her and Maddox I think we’re perfect for each other. Even from the first glimpse of them I was rooting for it.

Now that plot twist was one I absolutely did not see coming! God it was amazing and the when we got the full story….I was up at 2am crying my eyes out. Only a truly incredible book can do that to me. Once it all clicked and thought back to what I read I was thinking damnnnn, that is so well plotted and thought out! It’s such an addictive read really.

I liked the book. It was an emotional rollercoaster if I am being honest. It was rough at some points but there were really good ones. There are plot twists that I didn't expect. Characters are great but not relatable. Maddox is a great character and love interest and the relationship he has with both Sofia and Valentina are amazing. Valentina is one of those characters that you can't hate, she is just a little girl who has been through hell and back and all she wants is to be loved, have a normal family and a normal life. She is the most relatable of the characters. Sofia on the other hand, is a great character but she is one of those you have mixed feelings about. You can love her at some times in the book but hate her in others. She is a great character and has great development but she was not relatable at all whatsover. The relationship with the sisters is immaculate so that was definetly my favorite part of the book. Sofia is simply a bad**s survivor who would do anything to protect her sister. It's a really good book and I would read it again but it is not a book that I will consistently think back on.
