So I have read a lot of Hall's fantasy novels, but this contemporary was a first for me. I enjoyed this story and all the characters in it. The only real issues I had in it were personal, I think, nad had mote to do with the sibling relationship.
And I'm not really a huge fan of the title.

Such a cute and easy read
I love me some why choose of any flavor. I needed one that was an easy, cute, and interesting read, and this was delivered.
The guys were great. Some WC's fall into the pitfall of men that are difficult to tell apart, but I didn't have that issue here. (Van is ym favorite, FYI. I'm a sucker for a golden retriever.)
I also enjoyed Ken. She's got some depth. I'm always glad when the MC is plus sized without that, and her insecurities surrounding it being her whole personality. Ken thinks about it occasionally, but it's not her whole motivation. (As a big girl, I don't want to constantly be reminded of being sad about it, lol)

This is Sam Hall's first contemporary RH romance and she did a great job!
There is past trauma and bullying to overcome, groveling, a little bit of revenge, and a whole lot of love! Kendall is at a breaking point, trying to find a place to live. When she ends up at her brother's best friend's house, everything slots into place. Years of them terrorizing her as a kid and teenager, suddenly get turned around she gets her revenge.
Even with the childhood bullying, I end up loving these guys, they treat her like a Queen, and it's so satisfying.
Great book and I can't wait to see if Sam writes more standalone contemporary!

Edited to fulfill the 2024 popsugar reading challenge prompt #17 A book set in a travel destination on your bucket list. (Australia)
2.5 rounded up because this book was exactly what I was looking for at the time.
Nov 2024 in the USA has been how shall we say… stressful as fuck. I needed something that was absolutely pure fluff that didn’t require a brain and had no sadness. I knew Sam Halls books fit the bill. Cinnamon roll heros for days. There is nothing particularly earth shattering here, and the longer I read (and came out of my haze) the more I raised my eyebrows but this read helped me cope in times of despair. This book is unrealistic and goofy but honestly I’m going to need a lot more of these coming up.

This was my first rom com from Sam and I loved it! The story was so cute and I loved how supportive the guys were. If you want a cute fast read this is definitely for you!
what a sweet book
At first Kendall annoyed me, but then I realized she is almost every woman I know (including myself). We’ve all encountered people in our lives that were supposed to look out for us and when they didn’t, we just got used to taking care of ourselves. I’m not good at being vulnerable and like Kendall, I’m slow to trust. I’m very happy that she revealed her secret and found her truth

I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t romantic and there was something that felt off. I was bored the entire time and tried by best to finish it but I didn’t care enough about any of the characters to do so. There are some cute moments but there are far better RH/ enemies to lovers books out there with actual pining.
