Este tercer libro actúa como especie de “hilo conductor” que pretende unir todas las anteriores partes (Ciudad de Cristal y Fantasmas) y darle sentido, sobre todo con Ciudad de Cristal. Por tal razón, en varias ocasiones tuve que detener la lectura de La HABITACIÓN Cerrada y devolverme a Ciudad de Cristal para ir entendiendo las relaciones, y en realidad ha sido impresionante descubrir todo el entramado que Paul Auster arma para que la obra en general tenga sentido y cohesión.

Una trilogía, súper recomendada. De forma individual, “Ciudad de Cristal” me pareció fantástico, “Fantasmas” es más flojo, y finalmente “La Habitación Cerrada” no llega al nivel de Ciudad de Cristal, pero es una excelente historia, que sobre todas las cosas, se convierte en obra maestra, cuando empieza a develar sus relaciones con los otros libros, y continúa el rompecabezas de Ciudad de Cristal.

I don't think I ever gave the other two books in the trilogy much credit. By the end I really felt the loop, and felt subsequently stuck in the loop. Despite having just finished it all I want to go back and try to figure out all the connections. There's so much there and probably so much I didn't even pick up.

Üçlemenin ilk iki kitabını okuyalı çok uzun zaman olduğu için kurgusal olarak da bağlantılı olmadığından Kilitli Oda’yı da bitirip üçlemeyi rafa kaldırmaya niyetlendim ama düşündüğüm gibi olmadı. Kitabın sonu öyle bir noktada bitiyor ki yazarın üçlemeden sonra yazdığı Kırmızı Defteri mi okusam yoksa ilk iki kitabı tekrar okuyup sonra mı Kırmızı Deftere geçsem karmaşasından kurtulamıyorum. Kırmızı Defter’in öykü olduğunu muhtemelen arada bağlantı olmadığını bilmeme rağmen bu fikir peşimi bırakmıyor.
