After all the turmoil that has been election week, I found myself reaching for this rom-com to help quiet my mind.
I'm so glad I grabbed it, because I loved it from start to finish!
I love that Megan comes into her own as a woman looking to only have things in her life that bring her joy, which of course meant leaving a shitty man at the alter. I love how her voice comes through throughout the story, and how she becomes more confident in herself.
Christian is obviously a playboy who pretty much gets whatever he wants, but he also learns to come into his own sharing his true feelings with not only Megan but his father as well.
I loved all the family chaos that is Christmas, because that's exactly how it goes too.

This was a very cute story that had me cheering for Christian and Megan the entire time. Unline "Holiday Romance", there is no flipping between past and present, which I appreciate. However, I do wish we had a bit more insight to the past...Why Megan decided to leave Issac, maybe heard a bit more of Issac's side of the story and, above all else, what Christian thought of Megan when they were kids and when he saw her run out on her wedding day. Catherine made it sound as if Christian might have had a slight crush on Megan when they were in school...or at least he paid attention to her then, but there was no deep-dive into that story. i wish we could have gotten more of that, but overall, I'm happy with the book. It's a great book to read in the fall or winter season on a rainy day.
