I can legit cut and paste the same review I had for Viable Threat (a.k.a. the FIRST BOOK in this series) for this book:

"This book could have easily be a 5 on the me-scale, except that the romance goes from 0 to 60 way too fast, and then at the end of the book it goes right to 100. I'm sure that shit does happen in real life sometimes, but for me it was hard to suspend disbelief for that."

Like... the books were getting better kind of steadily, but.. suddenly back down again? Just odd.

Also, unique to this book,
there is this whole "Henry is so rough and dangerous sexually" thread that's really just so undelivered on that it's kind of hilarious. He mentions her needing a safe word, but all I was left wondering was... why did he bother??? (Not saying that sort of thing is unimportant in those sorts of relationships, but... yeah it was just seemingly reeeeally unnecessary.)

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

Let's start with the basic:
The novel goes about a woman that works in a US lab (sorry if my terminology is not correct). But apart from being there because...it's her job, and she likes it. She has been sent by her parents to investigate and find moles that are involved in a "biological war". Here comes the interesting thing: the guy who is leading her, her mentor it's too hot not to notice, so you know what comes after this:
- Fight scenes
- Secrets
- Romance
What more would you wish for?
Personally, I'm a sucker for fight scenes and immersing myself in the movements that the characters are involved into.
The writing was in a 3rd person, but it was really well blended. The scenes were never overlapped and I got to see and understand their minds.

What I didn't like:
The secret that was meant to unravel was done pretty quickly and was brushed to a side, without giving a proper explanation.
The other aspect that hit me was that the end was too......" And they live happily ever after". Clearly, this is a personal opinion. The epilogue was pretty quickly and, as I said, the ending was too "bright".

Obviously, this is all my opinion.
Nevertheless, I recommend reading and feeling all the sparks that you find throughout this book.

In a slight turn from previous books in this series, there is no involvement in an outbreak and more with direct conflict with the terrorist group that has been causing the outbreaks. This book is fast-paced from the start. Henry and Ruby have been working together for about two months when things start to ramp up with FAFO. Henry is taciturn and grumpy. Ruby is sunshiny and hard-working. She is not deterred by the grumpiness. The few secrets they are hiding has not gotten in the way of their unknown lust for each other. Just at the start of the story, they are poking at the idea that they might be interested in each other. Then, the terrorists start to make new moves and get in the way. There is definite danger banging in this book. Things moved so fast in the story, but you still didn't get lost. I wish there had been a little more time spent with Henry and Ruby as a couple. I did like that they do quite have many conversations throughout the book.
