My heart ached for the Nightingale!

A boy wants to take Professor's daughter with him to dance and for that, he needs a red rose to take that girl's consent. Nightingale sitting on an Oak-tree sees everything and goes from tree to tree to find a red rose for the sake of love. Sadly, getting a red rose isn't as easy as the nightingale thought it to be. She has to give her blood to a red rose plant to get a red rose. It's a 12-page short story that hit me so hard and I'm taken aback. Hence, it's proved that great stories don't have to be 1000 pages to prove their brilliance.

The ending just broke me!

Favourite quotes:
“Night after night have I sung of him, though I knew him not; night after night have I told his story to the stars, and now I see him."

"Surely Love is a wonderful thing. It is more precious than emeralds, and dearer than fine opals."
"Love is better than Life, and what is the heart of a bird compared to the heart of a man?”
