I hardly ever say this but here goes. I liked the book okay, but I much more enjoyed the movie. What's up with that?

Spend 4 hours to sharpen the axe, or 6 hours getting through the first 160 pages which were really just a whole load of build up for the final 60ish that were excellent.
An at times worryingly relatable book with some great insight on life, love and relationships, and the important of honesty, albeit in 1900, I still very much enjoyed. -1 star for just how much of it was backstory

Witty and British... it is a great flighty, summer read with Dickenson-like characters that are quirky and amusing.
