I enjoyed this book so much! It was a quick read and I immediately ordered a copy of her first book because her writing style and story was so well written. It follows the main character who travels from her home to her former home to try to get her ex to finally sign divorce papers. While she is there, a hurricane hits and hilarity ensues. I really enjoyed all of the banter between the characters but also the deeper meaning behind all of the storyline. It gave me a little bit of "Sweet Home Alabama" vibes in the best way. Absolutely recommend you pick this jewel up from Naina Kumar!
The miscommunication trope was so strong in this book. I really, really struggled to even finish it. I likely should have DNF'd but pushed through to the end. I liked the other guy better than the main guy, and was rooting for that couple the entire time, which is definitely not how it's meant to be in a romance book, I'm pretty sure. The main character did not make me love her either. Overall, I just did not like this book. And would have rated in 2 stars, if I did not feel like it was the biggest struggle to even get through it. The writing wasn't horrible, but I just hated everything about it.

"You're my home...of all the places I've lived, I've only ever felt at home with you."
I was so excited to find a story set in the Houston area (where I live), during a hurricane! And to learn it's inspired by Sweet Home Alabama - one if my favorite movies - and has a super cute cover, just added to my excitement.
Overall though, I thought this story was cute but just okay. For a forced-proximity romance, I thought there'd be ....more. The story fell just a little flat for me and was kind of repetitive. But I did enjoy some parts and would definitely recommend it for romance fans!
It's about 🌶-ish. Open door romance, but very minimal.
