DID NOT FINISH: 10%

There are no content or trigger warnings for this book, and maybe it’s too niche of an issue to warrant a full warning page. For those of your who grew up and/or still live on the Gulf coast, most of this book takes place in a hurricane in Houston.
I have serious PTSD from hurricanes after living through Katrina in Nola, then Rita a month later in DeRidder where we were staying after our house got destroyed by Katrina, and then lived through Harvey in Houston. My anxiety increased exponentially as I was reading Chapter 2, so I had to stop at 10%. Just be careful if you have hurricane PTSD and you pick up this book.
I’m not sure I would have loved it anyway though, it’s a second chance romance with a love triangle, and those are two of my least favorite tropes.

 😕

Reminded me of the movie Sweet Home Alabama

This was such a cute book. I listened to the audio and thought it was very well done. I love Sweet Home Alabama, and this was a really cute take on that.

I liked the MMC a lot - seemed very swoon worthy. I liked the forced proximity b/c of the storm but some of the little details of that were a stretch ( this is my common gripe about contemporary romance and it’s my own fault that I can’t just go with it).

Love the climate disaster causing forced proximity. Didn't like the miscommunication

This was the perfect romance for the 20-somethings who go to therapy and understand that not every past relationship is the other person's fault. It's for the person who sees their flaws in a previous relationship and wants to be better for the next one (or the inevitable return of a previous one 😉). I loved this story. I laughed, I cried, I felt inspired. Meena was a brilliantly written character and I'm so honored to keep a copy of this book on my shelf.
