Very typical fluffy teen romance only with royals and not typically heteronormative. Which is great to see and much appreciated, even if it's too silly at times. Not as funny as I was hoping it'd be.

Unfortunately, it also contains a bunch of heteronormative tropes, which I was not glad to see at all. The whole 'bad-boy with a heart of gold' (maybe, or so the girl thinks), doesn't really look any better or more palatable when it's translated to a bad girl situation.

This was cute, but I felt like it took a long time to get to the meat of the story and I wanted a bit more character development, I think. But it was fun.

It’s hard to transition from romance novels to YA novels. The pacing had its issues and the dialogue had its bad moments. The third act fall to resolution was too quick and I’m not a huge fan of large public declarations of love.
