I feel bad giving this such a low rating because there was objectively nothing wrong with it but I really struggled to find the motivation to keep picking this book up. A really interesting concept and a unique perspective but something just never clicked for me.

DNF…the plot moves a little too slowly for my current reading mood. The premise is very interesting, and I may return to it in the future

Interesting, with lyrical prose and magical realism I live for, but something just didn't click. It didn't live up to itself.

It just felt like it wasn't going anywhere... I couldn't get excited about the rest of the story. I was so interested in the idea of the time zones, but they really didn't feel like they had any impact or presented any real danger. The zones themselves are an allegory or metaphor for grief, however I felt that it didn't hold with the rest of the story. I would have liked the differences between the time ones to feel more impactful. The plot itself is slow, half way into the book very little had happened and I found that I just didn't care enough to keep going.

did not know there was gonna be lgbtq rep in this but what a great surprise!!! i love maya she was definitely my fav, something abt her character was just so warm and sunshiney i love people like that. even if they’re fictional 😭 the premise for this book is really different, i’ll be honest i did not understand a lot of the talk about time because it’s all very scientific but also philosophical (which is briefly touched on and i think is a really interesting take). it’s a very unique type of magic/fantasy,, if it could be called that? i’m not sure because it’s technically not, maybe it’s more sci-fi? idk but definitely fascinating. sora and koki’s dynamic was a bit strange because it felt like they were friends who were only still friends because they had been friends for so long (iykyk) but that might just be the writing style. there was a lot of repetitive stuff like about the different zones and to be honest there isn’t that much of a plot but it was still enjoyable enough and the bits about sora’s mum did make me a little sad. also big shoutout to the cover of this book bc it’s so beautiful
