I am enjoying this series....it is a little repetitive with everyone always after Jane. Someone else should have some more action in the book. Otherwise it was good....I never guessed who it was at the end...I liked that it never occurred to me. Maybe I am getting rusty...lol

July 2022: I so forgot a lot of the plot of this one HAPPENED in this book in particular. The less predictable in the series even on reread.
Jan 2019: The weakest link so far in this series which is possibly due to the Twilight-esque ending. Although, I was surprised at a plot decision.

I wasn't much in to audible books until I started listening to Molly Harper's books. I don't travel without them.

This does prove it. I can still do pnr, but, only funny pnr. I have said it before with the Sand books, and it is true.
It was 4 years since I read the last book (I know!), but I could easily jump in even though it is about the same character. I just started reading, I did not remember a thing, and it did not matter.
Instead I learned that Jane is a vamp (well I did remember that), everyone knows about vamps now (still lots of tension). She has a hunky BF called Gabriel (the one who turned her). She used to be a librarian, now she owns a bookstore. She is sassy, and I like her. She is friends with Zeb who is expecting puppies with his were GF. Her friend Dick is a vamp and together with Angela who works at her bookstore. Oh and she has the bitchiest sister in the world!!!
The drama between her and gabriel. Sigh. Ok that was not the best part. That man must learn how to communicate. Asshat.
Then there is a relative (sort of ;) that shows up and annoys her. She joins a group, fun things there. There is a mystery and there is just, nice, fun, sarcastic. I enjoyed it

While there was still enough snappy dialogue to entertain me, I didn't enjoy this third book in the series as much as the previous two. Everything felt just a little bit tired and worn, except for the sex scenes which were so overly exaggerated and graphic that they seemed almost comedic, rather than erotic. (And you know when sex is silly and slightly embarrassing, you're not doing it right.)
Overall, my affection for this series has waned slightly. We'll see if I move on to the fourth installment.

Again a quick, easy read. Can I just say I despise Gabriel? Will be reading the next (final) book in the series - I feel like I've invested enough time into reading these that I need to find out how it all wraps up!
I overdosed on vampire books and had to take a break for a while. Boy am I glad that I picked this one up. It embodied everything that I loved about the first book. It was laugh out loud funny and I didn't want to put it down! The story is a simple one: former librarian turned vampire/occult bookstore owner is insecure about her boyfriend/sire. They fight. They break up. They have I want to get together but get into a fight sex. Crazies try to kill girl.
I liked this book because it was light, fun, and funny. It was also predictable but I knew wha I was getting into when I started reading it. If there is a new book in this series I will put it on my too-read list wihout a doubt.
