I liked the story and the approach. The story is a very brief walk through life and the condition of mortality, done in a very beautiful art style. I wish there was just more of Darius and his experiences rather than them just be reflections

4/5. In India, the goddess of death finds her services are no longer required following the birth of a child who will grow up to discover immortality. Trapped in a human body, she watches the child grow and learn about life: its tragedy, its heartbreak, its beauty and its stubborn perseverance.
I was strongly reminded of both The Sandman and Daytripper, both of which are clearer in voice and stronger in impact than The Many Deaths..., but similar in their use of magical realism to explore emotional truths.
The artwork is a highlight; somehow both sketchy and intricate, the angular, distorted proportions lend an uncanny quality that's perfect for this metaphysical tale. I really enjoyed the book and particularly the juxtaposition of the ethereal with the mundane. There are ghosts and gods and talking crows but these take a back-seat to the everyday challenges of growing up and growing old.

What a lovely, heartfelt book. I didn't know what to expect going into it, but this is a beautiful story aided by Filipe Andrade's wonderful art and coloring. I even found myself tearing up at the end. A story well-told, Ram V.
