If there was a perfect entry point to Graphic Novels, this would be it. Touching, beautifully written, a gorgeous palette and a haunting story that will stay with you.
A powerful little story and a beautiful, beautiful visual treat. The artistic style. The color palettes. The clever little subversions of their own world-building. Immaculate.
It’s sort of hard to write any kind of review for this book because it truly was less of something that I read than it was something I viscerally experienced, as cheesy that sounds.
I’ve been a huge fan of Ram V’s Detective Comics run and have been hearing people rave nonstop about this book, so figured I should pick it up. Everything here is so lovely and well thought out. It’s a short story about death and life. Very few things I read can make me remember the feelings of past experiences at such a deep level but this book did it. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
