Perfection. A beautiful little piece about death and life. It is creative and artistic while being understandable and accessible. The closest comparison is probably Day tripper by Moon and Ba, but I think that storytelling was a little more confusing for the average reader, whereas I think anyone could handle this book.

Stand by every word of this. Well worth the re-read.

The Many Deaths of Laila Star is a miniseries published by Boom Studios. Over its 5 issues it follows the avatar of death fired from her job since the person who is going to invent immortality was just born in Mumbai. Over the course of the run, we see her various encounters with Darius, the person whose birth upended her life as they discuss and encounter the tragedy and beauty of death and life over the course of many years. The art is all beautifully crafted by Filipe Andrade with some color help by Inês Amaro, and tells a perfect tight story from writer Ram V
