Unfortunately I struggled a bit with this one. It was highly recommended to me, however I found it very bland.
I didn’t really like Macon as a character he felt really entitled and unrelatable. Also didn’t super love Brooklyn. I wish we had gotten to see more about her education or like background they barely glossed over the certification she was getting but everyone seemed so impressed by it. Also she kept saying she wasn’t embarrassed about being a maid but then would act like she was. I didn’t think either of their “lies” were that big of deal either. Idk the first flirting and courting stages of their relationship was cute but as the book progressed I just didn’t love it or feel super invested.
