This was okay....it really bugged me is it's being coined as a grumpy/sunshine trope. I don't see it. Yes, he's a grump for like the first 40-ish pages but then he basically becomes an obsessive stalker. She doesn't emit sunshine. She doesn't have time for anything but herself as she numerous times says that her life is "muddy" and has a lot on her plate. I'm going to try the second book in the series in hopes that it's better than this one...otherwise I'll DNF the series.

Hard no from me. Last of her books I’ll bother with. Really no plot. And insufferably overbearing and overly confident male lead. A weak, pathetic, inexplicably insecure female lead. The guy is a creep, and a player for no good reason (someone broke up with him so he goes on a decade long bender of using women?), not my thing. Woman has no backbone or self respect. I literally cringed multiple times reading it. Nope.

Wow this was the most spiciest book, I've read and I enjoyed it. I love how Macon wasn't a rich snob like the other rich men, I've read in other books. I can't wait to meet the other Spade's!
swoon worthy
Omg .. Macon is to die for. Best book boyfriend ever! I ate this book up and cannot wait to read the rebel so that I can read the sinner the second it releases!

Back in my billionaire era and I definitely enjoyed Macon & Brooklyn! He first saw her across the club and was immediately enamored! But she definitely made him chase her a little bit and I was here for it. Their chemistry is off the charts from the start and the tension and spice between them is so good!
What to expect: grumpy x sunshine, billionaire MMC, he falls first, one night stand, reformed playboy

I absolutely love a dirty talking MMC, but even more than that I love a FMC that gives it right back and Brooklyn was the perfect lady to counter Macon. The Playboy is a really fun, short, spicy read. I mean, it heats up in chapter 1 and keeps going... These two were great together though and I loved them!
The audiobook was such a fun listen and really made the book so enjoyable!

Thoughts: This was the first book I’ve ever read by Marni Mann and I loved it. It was fast paced and scorching hot. I wasn’t expecting the man who labeled himself a “playboy” to fall so hard and so fast. Macon went from the cold, distant playboy who never went back for seconds to begging Brooklyn for any scrap of time. The way he obsessed over her was something that would not be okay in real life, but in a book, it just worked.
I loved the juxtaposition between Macon’s wealth and Brooklyn’s lack thereof. In the grand scheme of things it didn’t matter, but it did give the book a bit of a Cinderella feel. There was no evil step mother, there wasn’t even a villain, but the housekeeper and the billionaire coupling still had that same effect.
I liked the way both Macon and Brooklyn handled the conflicts in their relationship and with their white lies. I liked all the secondary characters and makes me want to go back and read the Dalton series.
