“She has found that the only way to understand the world as something other than a tale of loss is to see it as a tale of change” 💀

Admired Mason’s abilities to write so well in many different forms and genres throughout the book. Overall, this one didn’t click for me personally but it’s very well done.

DNF because it wasn’t as adventurous as I hoped. It was a bit too slow and disjointed for me. Maybe it would have become more engaging later but I read about 30% in before calling it quits.

I’d give this book 10 stars if I could. It’s a book unlike any other. Each chapter is its very own story with its own style and voice, but it is tied to all of the other chapters in some deep way. Stories of love, passion, anger, jealousy, and longing. Pastoral and gothic all at the same time. Beautifully written. This is a book I will go back to and listen to again and again and I’m sure I’ll find even more links between each section.

I can tell this is amazing and I'm too distracted by end of pregnancy to appreciate it right now!

Couldn’t do it—it’s conceptually interesting but I don’t enjoy the writing style. Just felt too corny.
