I really deeply enjoyed this, and it’s more of a 4.5 . This character felt very relatable even if I couldn’t see myself in her situations. A lot of these thoughts and her mental health struggles felt so incredibly raw. The main character Enid is mostly endearing and while there were definitely moments where I was annoyed, she was easy to empathize with. Excellent book

I loved the slice of life writing style, and I had many a laughs while reading this.
It does get pretty brutal towards the end
, but Enid, girl, I see you 💗. It was resonating and heartfelt to see the invisible efforts and thought processes you go through.

The way Austin writes about mental health is so relatable. You feel like you’re in Enid’s head and really going through it with her, but there’s also so many moments of humour throughout.

A young woman named Enid is a lesbian who has never been in a relationship (despite her serial use of dating apps), is obsessed with true crime and space facts, and has a phobia of bald men. Interesting Facts About Space is another solid weird-girl lit-fic novel from Emily Austin. I really enjoyed Enid's perspective in this, and I think the pacing was spot on with this one.

I’ve had this book on my radar for a while now, and I’m glad to have finally read it! Enid is a hard-of-hearing (deaf in one ear) lesbian who has an unexplainable fear of bald men and is obsessed with true crime podcasts. This is not the kind of book with an overall main plot, but more-so a tale of Enid discovering and rediscovering parts of herself, so if character-based stories aren’t your thing, you may not enjoy this one so much. I, however, found it fascinating to be in Enid’s head. The author writes Enid’s thoughts in a way where it’s clear to the reader that she’s dealing with some kind of repressed trauma and is likely somewhere on the spectrum, but you get to see Enid’s journey of dealing with that on her own to eventually seeing a therapist and learning how to work through it. While I am not partially deaf, autistic, or suffering from PTSD, all of these topics appeared to be handled with care, and from what I’ve seen from reviewers who do relate to parts of Enid, it seems the author handled overall representation well. Some of Enid’s social anxiety thoughts definitely did resonate with me at times, and while I wouldn’t say she’s the most like-able character (there were a few things she did that were honestly just really shitty), she’s definitely the kind of character you find yourself rooting for. I just wanted to give her a big hug by the end. My only complaint was that I felt like it just…ended. I would have liked a little more to wrap some things up better. I’ll definitely be reading more books by this author!

TW: autism, PTSD, suicidal ideation, childhood trauma, parental abandonment, homophobia, lesbophobia, mentions of rape and murder (from true crime podcasts), anxiety, depression, cheating
