Maybe my rating system is flawed but I adored this!!! Luke and Emmy made me feel so warm and fuzzy. Emmy was such a relatable character with her ADHD and internal struggles. I love a good cowboy romance and I never knew I wanted to be called sugar until today. I liked their banter and relationship. NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP!!!! Iโ€™ve never read a book where the vibes were good and then itโ€™s over, what a trip. Smutty, lighthearted, with a deep meaningful relationship that made me smile so much my cheeks hurt. Thank you Layla Sage for this beautiful soft love story. I already miss Clementine and Luke ๐ŸŠ ๐ŸŽ

โ€œI couldnโ€™t believe the universe was so big, and I got placed on this random floating rock at the same time as Clementine Ryder.โ€

โ€œSugar, you deserve to go out on your own terms. Just because you got dusted doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re done.โ€

โ€œI leaned into Emmy, my hand on her throat still keeping her pinned to my office door, and spit the whiskey in her mouth.โ€

I really enjoyed this one much more than I was expecting! The cowboy romance genre has never really called to me but I saw this one and KU, saw there was no 3rd act breakup, and decided to give it a try. Iโ€™m very glad I did!

I found Emmy very relatable, especially with her anxiety, and I see a lot of myself in that. Luke breathing with her made me want to cry because thatโ€™s what my bf does for me. I absolutely loved their relationship and how the tension was there immediately!

This one is definitely more cowgirl centered than cowboy and I think thatโ€™s maybe why I liked it! We saw Emmy ride and overcome. We saw Luke help out and support her (as he should).

I think that Gus was way more extra than necessary and I feel like the next book shouldโ€™ve been his and Teddyโ€™s since we barely hear about Wes. Iโ€™m still excited though and Iโ€™ll definitely be keeping up with this series!!
