Fun read but it was a bit predictable. The main character and narrator didn’t really show much growth or self reflection in comparison to some of the other characters. However, she narrates the story to show her mistakes and expose her flaws.

Insightful bits about what it is to be mixed raised and from an immigrant/refugee family. Reflections about western history, politics and climate change were skillfully interwoven in the story.

I would read the sequel if it ever came out.

I enjoyed this book but was a little disappointed by it. I thought the premise was very cool, the world, the setting, even the plot. But the characters weren't that interesting especially with how much of the interesting stuff was eclipsed by romance plots that I didn't care about. Still, beautifully written and fun to read.

This was a joy to experience. The sci-fi elements blended in seamlessly with a world not too similar to today, and you could really believe that the Ministry of Time exists. The idea of bringing people from the past to save and study them also seems totally plausible, something that could be happening without us even knowing.

I loved how fun this was – Bradley managed to keep such brilliant light sarcastic humour throughout, as well as having moments where I almost cried. The characters, especially the experts, were so vivid in my mind, and our MC had almost a Hugh Grant quality to her which was a fun element to have. I could imagine this being a Richard Curtis film.

The only thing I struggled with was keeping tabs of some of the ministry staff as some had quite similar names and I couldn't quite picture them as well as our main characters and experts.

I'm really excited to see what this author will write in the future.
