It's so fluffy! Literally a sugar-spun story. But it is a spicy Hallmark movie in book form, so even if it's unrealistic and a little cheesy, it was still so much fun to read. I normally stay away from books with kids in them, but Gabby is a sweet character (and all the characters are really charming). All in all a really well-written romance to read if you want something fun and sweet.

This was a super sweet holiday romance, but I did find the middle to be a bit slow, as well as having some pretty long chapters. For romances I prefer more short chapters, especially when it’s from dual POV like this one was, so that was just something I didn’t really enjoy. Besides that, I did enjoy this and I felt like it was a good choice for my first Christmassy book this month!
*3.5 stars rounded up! A Princess for Christmas by Jenny Holiday is the perfect Christmas read for fans of made for TV Christmas movies and steamy contemporary romances.
When Leo Ricci's sister Gabby spots a "princess" trying to flag down a cab, she urges her older brother and sole guardian to pull over and help. Even though the woman is wearing a ball gown in front of the UN, Leo didn't actually think his passenger would turn out to be Princess Marie of Eldovia. Grateful for Leo's help and surprised by how comforting she finds his presence on one of the toughest nights of her life, Marie asks Leo to be her driver for the rest of her business trip in New York. The days pass by in a blur of business appointments and NYC holiday sightseeing that stirs up feelings neither Marie or Leo have felt for a very long time. Instead of saying goodbye at the end of her trip, Marie invites Leo and Gabby to spend Christmas in Eldovia. But will she be able to say goodbye to Leo on Boxing Day?
The premise of A Princess for Christmas is really inventive and I love that Jenny Holiday created her own fictional country Meg Cabot-style. Unfortunately, I didn't love the leads. I think both Marie and Leo are twenty-five but they read young, especially Leo. He's kind of like a toned down frat boy with a big heart and chivalrous streak a mile wide. Marie is educated and cultured, but I felt like too much of an emphasis was placed on the "high-brow" language she used and that language was usually very jarring to read.
I am interested in the world Jenny Holiday is building in Eldovia and look forward to giving Dani and Max's story a try when it comes out next year.

Super cute, definitely a steamy Hallmark read with my favorite trope: the normal person unknowingly meets royalty and falls in love.
It dragged on a bit, but still super cute, and I’m jumping right into the next one, Duke, Actually, today. Just give me all the royalty + Christmas!

Admittedly, royal romances aren't my thing but I just couldn't pass this story up after hearing someone call it a Hallmark worthy romance with sex and swears!! Which is a perfectly fitting description for this story. If you're looking for a fun, sexy holiday romance and you enjoy the royal/commoner trope, this is the perfect story for you!

Too soon to say that this is my favorite Holiday romance? I need to read Duke, Actually ASAP.

This was cute. Kind of a backwards Cinderella and I'm here for it. I really enjoyed the vibe and the spirit of the story. I hope we get a book two.

I sort of mistakenly read book two before this one. Good news, I enjoyed it just as much. Laugh out loud mixed with the feelings equaled a great reading. I’d easily dive into another book by this author, especially as I found the romance perfectly balanced with other relationships such as friends and family.
