Ugh I really wanted to love this. It was fine, easy to read and I did enjoy bits of Ellie’s character growth (and always love a book about middle aged people still growing and evolving). I just found the writing was not vibing for me for some reason - overly obvious and laid on way too thick a lot of a the time. The plot also really left me wanting at the end with various things feeling completely forgotten about (is there a book 2 coming? It feels like there must be?!)
I love and loved Jacqueline’s children’s books and they will forever be a huge part of my childhood in so many ways - I liked all the little nods to these books in here 💛

Nostalgic but didn't add to the series. The writing was quite simple. Nice to revisit the characters but magda also became more dull.
I don’t think I’ve read such an unsatisfying and simultaneously uneventful book ever. I’m pretty disappointed in this latest installment, which is doubly sad because I was such a fan of Wilson and even her older novels still feel so relevant nowadays. I can tell she’s trying new things but it’s not working out.

sad to give this such a low rating because I wanted to love Think Again so much :(
I hated the whole Gary/Ellie relationship from the beginning and it was so obvious it wasn’t right for her, to the point that it was frustrating she didn’t realise this herself. Ellie still seemed to have a very childish mindset in her decisions and reactions to everything that happened, and while I liked the ending, I wish the book continued after her and Alice found each other. Some of the plot lines also felt unresolved (esp Nadine’s situation & Lottie meeting her father) and it would have been so interesting to see these explored more instead of so many repetitive scenes with Mr Windsor. Most of the plot points also felt quite predictable and there were some inconsistencies (eg the Ubers) that were a bit jarring to read.
Despite this, I loved the little references to other Jacqueline Wilson books sprinkled throughout, and it was nice to see Ellie, Magda & Nadine’s steady friendship whatever was going on in their own lives. Her writing style was easy to read as always, and I hope Jacqueline Wilson goes on to write more of these adult books as I would love to see what some of her other characters are up to now
