Think Again brings us back to Ellie—the girl I adored growing up, along with Magda, Nadine, and all the drama of Jacqueline Wilson’s Girls series. Now she’s all grown up… sort of. If you, like me, were obsessed with these books as a kid, this is a must read. Cozy? Yes. Necessary? Not really.

Despite being pitched as an adult novel, the writing had me doing a double take. It reads more like a YA book than something meant for grown-ups. The plot crawls, and we spend most of the time stuck in Ellie’s head listening to her spiral in circles. There’s barely any action—just overthinking and reminiscing, and not the juicy kind.

And don’t get me started on Mr. Windsor. Her old teacher. Still in her life. Still… interested? It gave me the ick. It felt like the book wanted me to root for something that should’ve been a big nope.Iit felt like he was acting out a fantasy from when she was a literal child. Ew. And why is Nigel, the creeper from her past, still hanging around like a bad smell?

Sure, the reunion with Magda and Nadine was cute, but even that felt rushed and kind of flat. I wanted more real friendship moments, not just blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scenes.

This felt like catching up with an old friend who hasn’t really changed—but not in a good way. Warm? Yes. Heartfelt? Occasionally. But honestly? I didn’t need it, and I kinda wish I could un-read parts of it. Sorry, Jacqueline—this one didn’t hit.
