Langoliers is hands down 5 star..rest of the stories took it down two point.

Only Stephen King can consider something that stands at 300+ pages a short story...

Good collection though. I really enjoyed The Langoliers, and the others were pretty good too, though I found the ending of The Library Policeman a little lacking.

This collection of 4 novellas had it's ups and downs.

The first story, The Longoliers, was great. I thought it could have been fleshed out into a full length book easily. I liked the characters, the plot and it was all really well done.

The second story, Secret Window, Secret Garden, wasn't very good to me. I didn't like the movie version either.

The Library Policeman, the third story, started out really good and was quite scary. I didn't like the ending though and the rape scene was really disturbing.

The last story was The Sun Dog, which started out pretty slow but picked up by the end.

Overall the only one I really liked was The Longoliers and the rest was a let down.

3.5 stars.
The Langoliers, 4 stars.
I really enjoyed the first story. I'm freaked out by planes, so this one hit me hard.
Secret Window, Secret Garden, 3 stars.
This wasn't bad, and quite entertaining. The ending wasn't a surprise though and was hinted quite heavily all throughout the story.
The Library Policeman, 4 stars.
Ok, this one was gooooood. The setting was creepy and I don't think I'll see librarians the same way now.
The Sun Dog, 2.5 stars.
Meh, not really convinced with this one. Nothing really hit me.

Overall a good collection.

This isn’t my favourite King collection but it does have some spectacular stories despite that! I love the first three stories and I think they each stand out for very different reasons. They’re all very unique stories but I think The Library Policeman has to be my favourite out of the four, mainly because I actually used to have nightmares about getting arrested for not returning my books when I was a kid so it provides a bit of a nostalgic scare for me. The Sun Dog is definitely the story I enjoyed the least, I thought it was so predictable and unnecessarily long. I just wanted King to get to the damn point with that one and it’s why I can’t give this collection 5 stars, it drove me nuts!

another great collection of novellas from stephen king. i don't think this is as good as different seasons, but it's still quite good. let's go through each story one by one.
"the langoliers" - this was a great start. the concept is super intriguing and fascinating, but it could definitely have been shorter and could probably have done with fewer characters.
"secret window, secret garden" - this was the highlight of the collection for me. a great psychological thriller that slowly spirals out of control.
"the library policeman" - a bit long (mostly the backstory), but still really good... and creepy!
"the sun dog" - a typical stephen king premise, but the actual story falls a bit flat. the growing tension with the polaroids is the best aspect, but it feels a little lackluster otherwise.
overall, a very solid collection; the langoliers and secret window, secret garden being my clear favorites.

A collection of 4 novellas by King.
They were all pretty solid, I just found the last two novellas to be a bit silly especially after the two strong starters.

Individual ratings:
The Langoliers - 3/5 stars
Secret Window, Secret Garden - 4/5 stars - this instantly became one of my favourites.
The Library Policeman - 2/5 stars
The Sun Dog - 2/5 stars

He looked at the strained expression of incredulity on his sons face and his own strained look broke. He laughed and clapped his son on the shoulder. "It's only the world, Kev," he said. "It kills us all in the end, anyhow." -- The Sun Dog

Absolutely no surprise but another great collection of stories from King! Total of four stories, of course; The Langoliers was an interesting and unique story of time travel ... I'm already terrified of flying and now I have a whole new reason lol. Secret Window, Secret Garden was the creepiest story in my opinion. Loved the way Mort so seamlessly slipped into insanity, and that ending. . .EERIE!! The Library Policeman had one of my favorite characters, Dirty Dave Duncan, what a beautifully flawed but good hearted man. This was a tale that really had you clamoring for the big baddie to get what's coming to them. Lastly the Sun Dog, which is set in Castle Rock, a town all of us who love King are well acquainted with. This is a great monster driven story, with a special father son relationship intertwined!
