this was so good, kept me hooked, the only reason I put it down was to study 🫣
I think I would've enjoyed more if Ravyn and Elspeth were slow-burn.

can't wait to start the second book!

A very atmospheric read. Definitely the gothic fantasy I was promised. I will say I didn't like this book enough to continue on in the series. It was fun, but I am good with just having read the first book.

This was a fun fantasy read—the magic system was really interesting and different from a lot of other fantasy books I read. It had an interesting cliff hanger that I’ll be excited to hear the resolution for in the sequel! Curious to see read what happens next!
