Uma janela sombria? Um título bonito assim como a capa, um livro que oculta uma estória linda de busca da justiça, desejo de ajudar os indefesos e principalmente, o medo da verdade, porque a verdade nem sempre é bem aceita e compreendida.
Em um mundo cercado de uma bruma assustadora, pessoas açoitadas por supostas traições, amor sendo posto a prova tanto por pais e filhos, amigos e amantes.
A leitura foi extremamente fluída, intrigante e agora preciso continuar a duologia porque a dúvida está me deixando ansiosa demais.
Para quem gosta de fantasia, recomendo demais essa obra perfeita, que nos faz torcer por uma menina, um rei e um monstro!

This book was FINE. Far too much usage of similes to describe things. Prose was ok. The romantic relationship felt rushed. Like it was just very average, to me. I felt the card magic system could have been much cooler but it was a cool idea turned very basic.

THIS. This was the dark woods, misty cure for my soul that I didn't even know I needed 🌲🌫️🖤
The magic and setting was so cool and creepy—but not 'scary creepy'—more like 'mystical/carnival creepy' with the 12 providence cards.
I am entirely obsessed.
Everything lined up for me beautifully with this book. I was home sick with a hot drink on a rainy thunderstorm day during the rainiest summer we have had in decades, craving mystical fall energy when I cracked this baby open and all the vibes just HIT.

I LOVED THIS.

(Also skip the audiobook on this one, I wasn't a fan of the way the narrator did the voices and didn't think she did our protagonist, Elspeth, justice. Reading the actual book was a whole experience 🖤)
