Just now, I was sitting here trying to think what to say about this and the only thing that I could think was "There is nothing that I do not like about this."
So, that's pretty much it.

This was a really interesting book and it looked for awhile like it was going to be a 5 star review; however, the ending took it down to 4 (though I'd give it a 4.5 if I could.
It's impossible not to compare this to Scott Pilgrim and, for me, Seconds definitely comes out on top. Part of this is because I can relate to Katie more than I could to Scott, since Katie is around my age and at the same point of her "adult" life as me. She is a pretty spunky, fun character for the most part, though there were times I wanted to smack her across the head for being really dumb.
The supporting cast had a few stand-outs, particularly Lis and Hazel, though for various reasons Katie was the only character who really had much development.
The plot had a few new twists for the time travel genre, though there were some tried and true ideas in there as well. I was hoping the end of this plot might be a bit more profound, though the story itself ends up calling attention to the fact that it isn't necessarily, which I can appreciate.
All and all, very fun book that I think lots of people would enjoy, especially if they liked Scott Pilgrim or similar things.

Seconds was adorable but wasn't too spectacular otherwise. It was fun and a good, quick read, but I had no other attachment to it, and I doubt I will pick the graphic novel up again. I really liked the art, but the style kept the story just as cute as the accompanying illustrations, never letting me feel deep emotions. The concepts delved into, like "be careful what you wish for" and alternate futures, were not thought-provoking or unique enough for me to give the novel any more than three stars. Nonetheless, I enjoyed Seconds, have no regrets picking it up, and would recommend it to those who want something fast and entertaining.

super underrated book of his!!!! weird but good. gorgeous art as always.
Achei bem criativo e diferente.

I LOVED this. Not a perfect book or anything, but--I love it when I can sense authors aging up with me, and this is a perfect late-20s book the way Scott Pilgrim is a perfect early-20s book, I guess? Just sort of on point for my general concerns and sensibilities at this point in time.
I still love O'Malley's art style and his way of adding little jokes into the art. So cute!! I thought about giving this 4 stars and then I remembered how cute the art was and bumped it up to 5.

I just don't get the hype over this one. So many 4 or 5 star reviews on Amazon and 4+ stars on Goodreads can't be wrong, can they? (Yes).
Although I liked the artwork, the story is not compelling and the characters are immature, shallow, and selfish. In the end I was hoping that the main character Katie would just disappear with her mushrooms and the story would focus on Hazel, who seemed to have more substance to her.
Someone even compared this to Watchmen? I just don't get it. I don't think that person actually read Watchmen, or didn't get the significance of the references within.
