Interesting concept. Great art. Little hard to follow at times. I think I would like a whole book about Lis - Katie seemed rather....annoying?
For the life of me I can't remember why I picked this book up, I am sure it was on some list or something but I wish I could remember which and why!

So I've kinda been in a reading slump the past few weeks, but finishing this was worth it. I really loved it.
Katie is easily one of my favourite characters of the year, and I found the plot really intriguing and touching.
Worth a read

Bryan Lee O'Malley had a lot to live up to with Scott Pilgrim, and this did not disappoint. I loved ever second of this. No pun intended. And this might be the most beautiful book I currently own.
Honestly, who never thought about fixing some mistakes from their past? I'm sure that, at some point, everybody had a "what if" moment, right? But can we be sure that this alternate reality would be better than what we have now?
In this graphic novel Bryan Lee O'Mally brings up that topic by telling us about Katie's life. She's a 29 year old redhead in charge of cooking in a great restaurant, she's always unhappy with something in her life. As if something can be better all the time. Perfectionism is really our generation's main disease. That's why, you can imagine what happens to Katie when she finds some magic mushrooms that can change things in her past... Things get out of control. If a perfectionist would be able to change EVERYTHING, it would be hell on Earth, really.
The idea of this book isn't surprising or different from other stories of this sort, but I really loved the way it was written. Katie is really much like me and many girls from my generation. Even some guys are like this nowadays. This story is so loved among its readers because it's a very quick read, but on the other hand it helps you value the present, helps you forget about the "what if's".
If you feel a bit stuck in sad memories and keep blaming yourself for some old mistakes, but you have already watched "The Butterfly Effect" and many similar movies a dozen times, I recommend "Seconds".
I can't say that the illustrations are amazing, but they are cute and funny and match the story pretty well.

I would expect nothing less from O'Malley than simply brilliance. Another spectacular read filled with fun and odd plots.
**review to come
Note: I actually read on a vacation! This has got to be a first.
