Such an interesting and touching story - loved the relationship between narrator and main character. Everyone was so well developed and the drawings were beautiful

i've deducted multiple stars bc of how O'Malley decided (keyword here: DECIDED) to write Chef Andrew, the 2nd of only two Black character's dialogue. not all Black people talk like that, and why don't other characters talk differently? i'm in no way advocating for playing into stereotypes. i'd like to know the reasoning for making the only other Black character talk the way he does.

I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy Seconds when I first started it, but wound up loving it. Believable characters, a very interesting story, and great art.

There are things we can't change in life and we have to accept that and move on.

Great art, interesting premise. It gets a little weird toward the end, but it's an enjoyable graphic novel.

Charming blend of manga-influenced art with a coming of age tale of a strong female character blended with Japanese myth. Felt slight, though.

My first graphic novel. It was a cute/quirky story and the illustration was awesome.

great story and graphics about  a young chef who wants to change her present situation - she writes her mistake, eats a mushroom, goes to sleep, wakes up - situation changed.  She starts to do this over and over again with negative consequences until she figures out the "meaning of life" - the story goes the way you expect it to, but that's okay because it's a fun ride!
