A little harder to love than Scott Pilgrim, Seconds is still a wonderful novel. The Color work in particular is just stunning.

Such a great graphic novel exploring the idea of second chances and how life would be if we changed everything we regretted and hated about our lives. Would the life we ended up in after 'fixing' our mistakes be a world we even liked? And what would we sacrifice to end up in that world?

I've wanted to read this for awhile but still went in with not many expectations but totally blown away. And while at first, I was iffy on the art style I ended up really loving it by the end. I also loved the narrator and the way it interacted with the main character. Just fun and an enjoyable experience.

The characters are lovable and utterly adorable! Hazel is such a cutie pie! And oh my, I need Lis in my life, she's so precious.

What a fun read! Probably will check another works from this author.

Wow- this was really enjoyable, and beautifully done. I really liked this, and wasn't totally expecting to do so. Might have to revisit this at another time.

Actual Rating: 4.5/5

Overall, this was a solid, fun read. The artwork and colour palette were beautiful and adorable. (I particularly enjoyed the food illustrations :P) The story and characters were engaging. But it was thematically underwhelming. It didn't offer anything about life or second chances that hasn't been said already. Which is completely fine but after seeing all the positive star ratings, I was expecting a little bit more.
