I was thoroughly invested in this book by the end but there were points along the way where I had a hard time "staying in" the story. I briefly considered DNFing but I'm glad I stuck with it. I didn't enjoy the characters as much as I typically do in dark romance books but the plot was compelling and since this is a series I'm hopeful that this is just the beginning of the character development.

Not bad...I was just slightly bored at points in the middle of the book. I wonder if I would have had a different experience reading this book. There are lots of case/crime details in this books...that if you aren't paying full attention on audio..you feel lost. I will be trying book 2 by reading it!
