I have just started my journey with Katee Roberts & Novellas. With that being said I was not disappointed. This was only my 2nd monster romance and I am unsure if it's a book I would normally go to without having been asked to read it by my daughter. Now I understand what a novella is and I am unsure if they will ever be a fit for me as I am always left wanting more, but this one was worth wanting more as I loved the characters. There was good growth between the couple in this one. I did love Sol and the way he responded to Briar. It was also nice to see more of Azazel. I am wanting to read more about him as I am even more curious about him and his background.

Briar Rose makes a deal with a demon in order to escape an abusive marriage, one that she wouldn't be able to leave otherwise with her life. In exchange she must give up seven years of her life in exchange for giving her purchaser (I don't know how to phrase this in a better way. There's an auction and she is auctioned off. so purchaser? buyer? whatever) being given the chance to seduce her.

Sol makes a deal with the same demon and is given the chance to purchase a human wife for the betterment of his people. By pairing with a human, any children that they have will be stronger and his land will prosper. But Briar isn't willing to have children, especially one she will have to potentially give up in seven years. Combine that with PTSD from her previous marriage and these two have to work through a lot.

I did really like this and I will continue the Deal with a Demon series. It's interesting and a quick read and the smut is great. Katee is one of my favorite authors and if you also love her books you will love this book too.
