Another last book. Another one of those that has been on my shelves for ages already. I even thought about reading this one quite a few times already, but at the last minute I always picked another book. And strangely enough I know I don't have to say goodbye to the characters. There is a spin-off, of which I accidentally already read the first book, starring the best friend and a next gen story. However, before I wanted to continue those I wanted to finish this one.

This book is slightly chaotic. Or well, it's actually really chaotic. And in a way it means that it's sometimes hard to keep track of where the plot goes. But in another way it also really fits the kind of story this is. Claudia is improvising. She's good at it, mostly, but she's playing with big guys who had years of planning, plotting and improvising under their belt. The combination DOES lead to chaos, although Holmes is that brilliant that in the end she manages to get everything back together.

A lot of storylines have started in the previous three books and I was quite curious how Holmes was gonna solve them all. And as if solving everything wasn't hard enough, Holmes also added some curve balls in this book changing everything we and the characters in the book thought we knew. But by doing so she really managed to connect all those storylines, to show us that they actually weren't all separate exciting plots. They were all part of one big plot.

And along the way she also gave Claudia some major character growth. It's often said, but sometimes you need to lose what you have to learn that you already had everything you needed. Sometimes we only see true value when we're on the brink of losing something. Claudia learns that the hard way, but it's also very fitting that she has to learn it. She was brought up a certain way, she only had seen love in a certain way. She had to learn what love truly is.

Although I liked the first book in the series best, I really enjoyed this satisfying conclusion to the series and I'm now really looking forward to the spin-offs.

HOLY PLOT TWIST

I can't even find the words to describe the plot twist that was the last 100 pages of this book. SUCH AN AWESOME READ! Can't wait to jump into Elite and see the shenanigans the kids get up to

My Savage Empire

Oh my goodness. So many things happened in this book. Some bad things and some really really good things. I'm so happy for the way things went and ended. Great Series and I'm excited for George's book.

I started this series after reading the excerpt for “Pretty Girls Make Graves” in the Devil’s night anthology. George makes a few references to Claws and tells a bit of their shared backstory.

Overall, this was a fun series and if you know a bit about Roman history, there are a lot of neat Easter eggs and fun hints throughout the novels.

If I could rate this in negative numbers I'd do it.
I hated this book more than the others.
I hated the characters and how much they changed or stayed the same - Noah turned into a psychopath and Gabe spent the whole series being a depressed alcoholic.
Lots of things don't make sense and the author didn't even try to write a cohesive story. How can teenagers pull this off? How can a young girl rent an apartment and work? Give me a break.
I love a good twist but I need to read some clues through the story, I need a logical explanation. The whole "contact lenses" story was dumb af.
The end was ridiculous. The guys were right when they left Claudia near the end, she never gave a shit about them and never will. I hated her so bad when I liked her in the beginning.
I usually like Steffanie Holmes' work but this is a giant mess.

Frustrating to read a series and see all the twists coming from books ahead. I really wanted to like this series.

This is an epic end to this series. Claws and her harem have been through the ringer over and over again in the previous books and this one doesn’t hold back either.

Claws puts out one fire another sprouts up behind her. She’s completely ruthless and it causes lots of angst in the relationship. There is so much going on plotting, lies and betrayal around every corner. It creates tension throughout the entire read. The end is *chefs kiss* perfection! Such an amazing conclusion to this series.

Story 4/5, Heat 4/5, Darkness 3/5, Angst 3/5

Fast burn as you can expect out of the final book in any RH.

No virgins, sharing and group scenes, OW/OM drama, no push away or breakups but there is lots of angst and tension within the harem, no separation. No cheating, no cliffhanger and HEA

Safety - there’s OW and OM drama but no cheating. In my opinion, the OW/OM drama is mild it’s there for tension, no one is messing around outside the harem.

There is a lot of violence here, it’s definitely not light in that department.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

betrayal

How many times can this girl be betrayed? The whole story is someone stabbing someone else in the back. Great great plot twist. Like she says only family has the power to hurt you.
