This book didn't wow me at all. All i'm getting from it is dialogue and a lot of chapters that feel like fillers. As in, i could cut out 3/4 of the book and the story would still make sense.

To further develop that point, the fact that in every chapter the author reminds us of the same things she has told us previously
Spoiler(Yes, the room is like a fishbowl, yes you feel like you're in a zoo, yes , you feel surrounded by the sea and YES, i already i>understand the ins and outs of how the magical lake place (I'm not going to even attempt to spell it but you get my drift) works.
makes it easy to pick up the story even if you did cut out a huge chunk of it.
In fact, it feels like I'm back in school with teachers drilling into us the same information, like...enough already, i get it.

That being said, i still like the characters. Especially Kaspar. We definitely got to see a more human side to him so at leat it seemed like someone was real. Bryn definitely has her beliefs and sticks to them which shows that she is a strong character (even though sometimes her head is not focused on the right problem.)

Also, the whole 'who is the bad guy in each book' thing happening? I can still easily predict who it is because the motives are too clearly seen and as i said in the previous review for book one, the characters seem to be only black and white.

I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this ebook for review. These are my own thoughts and opinions and receiving a copy for free has not influenced them.

I really enjoy Amanda Hocking. This is my third series that I’ve read by her. Her books are something you want to pick up if you want an easy read into a great world for a few hours. This world is no different. The covers alone will make you pick this up and check it out. They are beautiful. Now onto the good stuff…

Bryn is an independent outcast in a way. She’s got a different look and is constantly being reminded of that. It’s one of the reasons that she’s such an awesome character. She’s constantly trying to prove everyone wrong and working so hard. At the same time, she has a romance that is blooming. I really enjoy most of the characters. I can't wait to see how things play out with Ridley

This book we get to learn more about her Skojare heritage but at the same time there’s a million more questions. It is one of the reasons for the 3 stars. I do like that we got more about her heritage and we get a bigger picture of the Skojare. I feel like I have more questions than answers in this book. I’m hopeful that the next book will answer them but I would have liked more clarity from the second book. The pace is a big slow and the plot doesn’t develop as much as I would have liked. I feel like there’s so many times that Konstantin Black is mentioned and we don’t even see him in this book.

I feel like this book was a little too much of a filler book. I would have liked more of an adventure in this one. The last 30 pages or so really picked up and there are some twists but it took that long to get me really interested. Maybe I had too high of expectations after the first book. It just fell short. I will still be reading the third book because I love Amanda’s world. I just hope it has more answers and more of a meatier plot! Not a bad book overall, just fell short of what I expect from a sequel/second book!

I didn’t like this one as much as the first, but the story continued where it left off. A little more of what is going on is revealed. There is some loss that was shocking and sad. There is also a misunderstanding that causes problems for our main characters.

Normally the first book in a series is the best one, but I actually like the second book more that the first book. If you read my review of the first book, Frostfire, I really liked the book, but it was missing that extra something that makes me love a book. Well, Ice Kissed had it! This is one of my new favorites!

5 stars

And now currently needing to read the third after finishing this.

Už si moc nepamatuji své dojmy z dílu prvního, tak nemůžu moc srovnávat no.

Spoiler
"Tak co říkáš, bílý králíčku?" zeptal se. "Přátelé?"
- boží konec mimochodem!

I'm not really sure how I liked this book compared to the first book. It was still really good, and I read it a lot faster than I expected to. I finished it and was very surprised that it had only taken me two days. The plot was a little different, but it was still very good. I really could not tell who was good and who was bad. It was well thought out.
The thing that changed the most was the romance. In the first book, they both kind of know that they have feelings for each other, but they dance around it a lot. That still happened in this book, but way more. They would kiss, and tell each other that it couldn't happen, because it is risky. It was really frustrating because I wanted them to get over it and just be together, and this (I think) ultimately forced me to read faster.
One thing that really bothered me was that I found numerous grammar and spelling errors. This was soooo frustrating and I just wanted to take out a pen and correct it. Spelling errors make me so frustrated in books.

I really enjoyed reading this book again, watching Bryn's adventures, seeing more of this world! Really great book, but yeah, there's some hard hits in this book!

Really great addition to this series, things hurt, that they happened, but I can't wait for the final book!
