This book was not what I expected. I'm so glad I read it, and can't wait for the sequel!

Though I'm avid twilighter I didn't read "The Host" till almost a year after its publication. To my delight, it was equally if not more entertaining than the Twilight series. Highly recommended -especially to Stephenie Meyer fans.

Easily superior to Meyer's other works (ahem), I thought The Host was an entertaining YA novel, and it shows that Meyer does have some potential as a writer after all.

I really enjoyed it! It for sure is quite a big one but I think it's really worth it. I loved how unique the relationship between Melanie and Wanderer was and how it shows us that even if it's another species, it can be feeling just the same as you and I do.
I obvs cried at the end (I'm really emotional) but also laughed throughout the book and there were pages who I just couldn't read fast enough cause I wanted to know how it keeps going.

Overall the story is interesting. I like the concept. Unfortunately Stephenie likes to have females be completely devoted to and reliant on males. And she's way to wordy and descriptive about things.

I did not enjoy this. Read it for my book club and thought it could have been a better story. Not a big fan of the happily ever after, sweet and perfect endings.
