My first Bond novel. I chose to listen to this one because the narrator is David Tennant. He was excellent.
adventurous sad tense fast-paced

I read (listened) to this for a challenge. I am not a James Bond fan but I did like David Tennant's reading of this novel.

The worst James Bond novel I have read.

This was my first James Bond novel; I am not impressed. He isn't charming he's manipulative and creepy and gross.
adventurous mysterious tense slow-paced

Another rollicking ride

Far better than the film and a good fast run with great characters, good and bad. Forget the movie, read the book.

This is my favorite Ian Fleming book of the James Bond series. The movie version very closely follows the book. Only Dr. No and From Russia With Love came this close to the book (been a while since I read Goldfinger). It's so well paced, so detailed, exciting and romantic- and heartbreaking.

all the time in the world.

Really enjoyed this read. Took my time with it as I knew how it was going to end and knew it would break my heart like the film does.

Love this: "Bond's mind ticked and whirred, selecting cards like an IBM machine."
