Emmett and Blake, what a couple!
I really enjoyed their story and connection. I do wish we got a bitttt more of their past and more conversation before we got the ball rolling, but I still loved seeing them reunite and solve their issues.
Emmett and Blake got married years ago when they were best friends and both serving in the army together. After an accident, things change. Blake runs and Emmett forces himself to move on. Emmett sends divorce papers to Blake, but she isn't having it! Blake shows up in the small town of Rose Canyon where Emmett is now the sheriff. Blake insists that she is there for a job/case she is working on, but she is also determined to set things right between her and her husband.
This book took me for a ride! I was truly so nervous at one point and flipped through the book really quickly to make sure we were getting a HEA somehow. The complexity of Emmett and Blake's past and relationship was so engaging. They had quite the history, and wasn't sure how they were going to move on from that, but they figured it out together.
The overall suspense and mystery storyline balanced well with the reuniting of Emmett and Blake while they figured out if they had a future. I was engaged in both storylines. Their relationship and connection were so clear to see and I loved seeing the resolution of them.
Overall a great, engaging read and cannot wait to read the next book!

Corinne does it again with another storyline that makes you yell, “WTH CORINNE.” I was literally messaging a friend begging her to tell me what was going to happen since she had already finished the book. We got to see a snippet of Emmett and Blakely’s story at the end of Help Me Remember, which left us on pins and needles needing this book to come out. Their marriage was one of connivence, until they crossed the line, and they caught feelings. It was a heartbreaking read, that put you back together, to rip your heart out again, and patch it up in a nice, pretty package. I was slightly raging at certain part, but go figure if you are reading any of Corinne’s books. I can’t wait to see Holden and Sophie’s story and what heartache we will have to go through.
