Can't say it's bad, for not at all. It's just that were I now 13, not 23, only then it would be my bible. But I am 23, and thus I can only admire the "if" thought here. It's well written tho, truly, and I won't ditch on other books either.

I really didn't like this book. It wasn't realistic at all. It was completely unbelieveable (in the bad way). I wouldn't read this book agian if you paid me. The worst thing is, whoever wrote this book obviously didn't do their research: in the book they say that a mayan prophecy says that the world's going to end on 12/22/12, but in actuallity it's said to happen on the 21st. How sad is that. Though, if you just want to read for the sake of reading, than this isn't a horrible choice, after all I felt compelled to finish it. But I'm sure that any serious reader would easily be able to find a much better read on all acconts.

This book is very intriguing and super adventure for a 13 y/o boy. For me, Josh is way too young for this super adventure. But he was a smart boy and brilliantly intelligent! I love the character. Invisible city is such a brilliant title cause it's all about a hidden, secret and mysteries lost city that actually exist! And the codices are so mind-blowing. I wish to meet Josh again in his next adventure and I wish for him to grow up to a smart, handsome teenager.

Imagine while you were enjoying your life in beautiful summer of Oxford, then the next moment you involved in a big Mayan conspiracy. That was what this book talked about.
The underground city of Ek Naab reminds me of the underground city of The People in Artemis Fowl, somehow. Well, i like it.

P.S. I've just realized this series has a fringe science theme, like parallel universe and time travel.

If the main character in this book weren't just 13, I'd like it more. Some of the events in this book are a bit much for its intended age range, I think. I mean - murder is fine, I guess, but decapitation? Adultery? The main character's mom goes to the hospital for depression and the boy just continues to live at home? Suspicious. Also - he blogs about everything when things are supposed to be top-secret. As a librarian trying to teach students Internet safety, this seems pretty irresponsible. And did I mention that this boy, and his two friends, travel to Mexico from the UK on their own?
All that said, it's a really fun adventure story, and I think fans of 39 Clues, Mission Unstoppable, and Gordon Korman books will enjoy it. I won't be recommending it to students younger than 6th grade, though.
